Projects portlet

You can access the
Projects
portlet on the staff and client dashboards.
note
This portlet is available only if you are licensed for the Project Management module.
The
Projects
portlet opens projects for which the signed-in person is the responsible or assigned staff member,
Staff Dashboard
or for the selected client,
Client Dashboard
.
Right-click the portlet to choose from
Add
,
Edit
,
Delete
,
Complete
,
Generate
, and
Print
projects.
  • Select
    More portlet options
    Show portlet options button with 2 white down arrows to show the following:
    • Enable Grouping
      : To group the portlet by column headings. Drag and drop a column heading to the shaded area preceding the grid to group by that heading.
    • Show Tasks
      : Show or hide tasks for the selected project.
    • Search
      : Search for items in the project list. The Using the search feature article has more details.
    • Show Filter Show filter button with 2 blue down arrows shows the
      Filter
      box. Use the dropdown list to show only projects that contain those items, or select
      More
      More button with ellipsis icon to create a custom filter.
    • Open Projects only
      : To show only open projects for the currently signed-in staff member in the portlet. Clear the checkbox to show all projects for the current staff member.
  • To use the
    Field Chooser
    Field chooser button, shows a list in front of a table with a header row and an arrow between them., mark or clear the checkboxes for the columns you want to show or hide in the portlet.
  • If you've assigned a solution to a project, select the
    Solution
    icon to open the solution.
Select the title bar of this portlet to open the
Manage Projects
screen.

When you enable security rights for a portlet on the
Security Groups
setup screen, Practice CS may also turn on rights to view the data available in the portlet. Conversely, removing rights for viewing data may also remove rights for related portlets. Review the
Privileges changed
pane on the
Security Groups setup
screen to check all user right changes that are triggered by enabling access to a portlet.
For this portlet, if no rights are already turned on for the following security options, full rights will be given:

If your firm has multiple offices, you may want to remove rights to information for other offices.
