Extend a project due date
Use the
Extension
dialog to add, change, or delete a project due date extension.When a project template is set up with extensions before a project is created for a client, you can extend the project by selecting an extension from the dropdown list in the
Due dates
section of the Project
window. If the project template didn’t include extensions before the project was created, you can add them later by using the Extension
window.To open the
Extension
window, right-click the dropdown list under Due dates
in the Project
window, and then select Add Entry
or Edit Entry
.note
Extensions added to a project template are not added automatically to projects that have already been created. To add an extension to an existing project, use
Add Entry
from the context menu.- Open theProjectwindow.You can access theProjectwindow in any of the following ways:
- In theClientssetup screen, choose , select the client, selectEdit, open theProjectstab, select the project, and then selectEdit.
- In theManage Projectsscreen, choose , right-click the project list, and then chooseAdd ProjectorEdit Selected Projects.
- Right-click anyProjectfield, such as inTime & Expense Entry, and then chooseAdd ProjectorEdit Project.
- Right-click the dropdown list underDue dates.
- Do one of the following:
- To add an extension, selectAdd Entry.
- To change an extension, selectEdit Entry.
- To delete an extension, selectDelete Entry.
- If you are adding or editing an extension, complete the fields in theExtensionwindow.
- Enter or update the value in theExtension numberfield.
- Enter the extended date in theDue datefield, or select it from the calendar.
- SelectOK.
By default, the first extension uses1in theExtension numberfield. The number increases each time you add an extension to the current project, but you can change the number manually if necessary. - If you selectedDelete Entry, confirm the deletion if prompted.When an extension is deleted, the project's original due date is restored.
The project due date extension is added, updated, or removed. Added extensions appear in the
Extensions
column of the Manage Projects
screen.
