Set project generation options

Use project generation options to specify whether the next generation of the project is based on the original project template or based on the current project assigned to the client.

Set generation options in the project template

  1. Select
    Setup
    ,
    Templates
    , then
    Project
    .
  2. Find the project to modify and select
    Edit
    .
  3. On the Main tab, select Recurrence
  4. For
    Project Generation Options
    , mark or clear the items to generate based on the current project. If an option is marked, individual client projects will regenerate based on the current project's information. If the option is cleared, individual client projects will generate based on the template.

Set generation options in the client project

  1. Select
    Setup
    , then
    Clients
     or
    Actions
    , then
    Manage Projects
     and edit the client project.
  2. Select Recurrence
  3. Select
    Use Specified Rule
    . If
    None
     or
    Use Project Template
     are selected, the project generation options won't be available.
  4. For
    Project Generation Options
    , mark or clear the items to generate based on the current project. If an option is marked, individual client projects will regenerate based on the current project's information. If the option is cleared, individual client projects will generate based on the template.

Set generation options for multiple projects

  1. Select
    Actions
    , then
    Manage Projects
    .
  2. Select the projects you want to modify. Use Ctrl and Shift to select multiple projects. We recommend using a filter on the Manage Projects screen to reduce the number of projects you need to sort through during this process.
  3. Right-click and select
    Edit Selected Projects
    .
  4. Select
    Change Project information
    , then
    Next
    .
  5. Select
    Recurrence
     from the dropdown in the 1st field.
  6. Select Recurrence
  7. Select
    Use Specified Rule
    . If
    None
     or
    Use Project Template
     are selected, the Project Generation Options won't be available.
  8. For
    Project Generation Options
    , mark or clear the items to generate based on the current project. If an option is marked, individual client projects will regenerate based on the current project's information. If the option is cleared, individual client projects will generate based on the template.
  9. Select
    OK
    , then
    Finish
    .
