Update a task

Update an existing task to change its status, assignment, dates, budget, or other task details.
You can select a task to update in any of the following ways:
  • In
    Setup
    , then
    Clients
    , select the client, select
    Edit
    , select the
    Projects
    tab, expand the project, select the task, and then select
    Edit
    or right-click and select
    Edit Task
    .
  • In the
    Project
    window, select the
    Tasks
    tab and select the task.
  • In
    Actions
    , then
    Manage Projects
    , select the project in the grid, right-click the task in the lower pane, and select
    Edit Selected Tasks
    .
  • In
    Actions
    , then
    Manage Projects
    , select the
    Project Tasks
    tab, right-click the task, and select
    Edit Selected Tasks
    .
  • In Time & Expense Entry, select a project in the
    Project
    field, select the task selection button, and then select the task that you want to update.
  1. Select the task that you want to update.
  2. Select
    Edit
    , or right-click and select
    Edit Task
    .
  3. Update the task information as needed.
    When you change the
    Tracking description
    field to
    Completed
    , the application automatically enters the date in the
    Complete
    field under actual dates.
    You can edit the actual dates if needed.
    When you enter an actual start date or actual completion date, the application changes the
    Tracking description
    field to
    Started
    or
    Completed
    .
  4. Optional: To update multiple tasks at the same time, hold down the SHIFT or CTRL key while selecting tasks, right-click, and then select
    Edit Selected Tasks
    .
    In the
    Edit Selected Tasks
    window, select the fields to update and enter the new values.
    You can update up to six fields at one time.
  5. Select
    OK
    to save your changes.
The selected task information is updated.
