Adjust the print area of a report

You may need to adjust the print area of a report after changing its orientation. After you change the print area, you may also need to resize items such as separator lines and text boxes to suit the new page width.
  1. Adjust the print area:
    1. Use the horizontal scroll bar to move sideways in the report.
      note
The ruler at the top of the editor shows 8 inches of print area for an 8.5 inch wide portrait report, and 10.5 inches for a landscape report. This accounts for a 0.25 inch margin on the left and right of the report.
    2. Point the cursor over the right edge of the report until it becomes a double-sided arrow.
    3. Select and drag the right edge of the report to resize it.
  2. Resize horizontal separator lines as needed:
    1. Select the top line in the
      PageHeader
      section.
    2. Press and hold the
      Shift
key and select any other lines in the
      PageHeader
      section.
    3. Scroll down to select other horizontal lines in other sections of the report.
    4. Use one of the selection points and drag as needed, making sure the lines remain horizontal.
  3. Resize text boxes as needed.
    1. Locate any text boxes spanning the width of the previous report width.
      note
Usually these would be your report and page headers.
    2. Press and hold the
      Shift
key and select any of those text boxes.
    3. Select
      Format
      ,
      Centre in Form
      , then
      Horizontally
      .
      note
The selected text boxes are now centered for the new report width.
  4. Resize other fields as needed.
