Custom fields

You can set up custom fields for many objects in Practice CS. With custom fields, you can store information for which Practice CS doesn't give a defined field.

Custom field types

  • Checkbox:
    Displays a checkbox followed by the field description. The value is
    True
    if the checkbox marked, or
    False
    if the checkbox is cleared.
  • Date:
    A valid date. Includes a date picker.
  • List:
    Lets you specify a finite list of valid values. Only the values on the list can be entered into the field. To create the

    • Select
      More
      next to the
      List items
    • Enter an
      ID
      (up to 11 alphanumeric characters) for each value.
    • Enter a
      Description
      (up to 30 characters) for each value.
  • Number:
    A numeric value. Includes a dropdown that will show a calculator.
  • Staff List:
    Any staff member set up in the database. Includes a dropdown list that shows all staff members set up in the database.
  • Text:
    An alphanumeric value. The text value may be up to the number of characters specified in the
    Length
    field.
