Print reports
To print reports from Practice CS, follow these steps.
- SelectFile, thenPrint Reports.
- Select a report or profile from the list of reports and selectSelectto move it to the Selected Reports list. Repeat as necessary to select additional reports.note
- You can also double-click reports and profiles to add or remove them from the Selected Reports list.
- To reorder the Selected Reports list, select and drag a report or profile name to the desired location in the list.
- If you get a SQL Server error with several "invalid column name" messages when you print a report, you might need to clear any applied filters before selecting the report by holding the shift key as you select it.
- Use theSelectionandLayouttabs in the Report Options to customize the report's output.
- If you want to preview the report before printing, selectPreview Selected.noteYou can also print reports directly from the Print Reports screen by selectingPrint Selected. However, when you print from the Print Reports screen, the page range options in the Print window are unavailable.
- In the Report Viewer, selectFile, thenPrintto open thePrintwindow.
- In thePrintwindow, you can choose to print the report to 1 or more of the following outputs:Output options for printed reportsOutputDescriptionOutput to printerMark this checkbox to send the report to the default printer for your workstation. To print to another printer, select it from the dropdown.Output to FileCabinet CSIf you're licensed for FileCabinet CS, mark this checkbox to send the report to FileCabinet CS when you pint. Each report will be send as 1 item with the same name as the report. You'll also need to choose whether the reports go to a client's drawer or a staff member's drawer.Output to GoFileRoomIf you're licensed for GoFileRoom, mark this checkbox to send the report to GoFileRoom when you print. You'll also need to choose a file format from the dropdown .noteBefore you can print to GoFileRoom, you'll need to map your GoFileRoom Indexes to fields in Practice CS.Output to fileMark this checkbox to print the report to a file. The file is saved in the folder that you choose in the field provided.note
- Reports printed as xls files are exported to a single Excel worksheet.
- When you print a report to Excel by choosing File, then Print from a report preview, the Excel file will contain hyperlinks and headers and footers from the page breaks generated for the previewed form of the report.
- When you print a report to Excel directly from the Print Reports screen by selecting thePrint Selectedbutton without first previewing the report, the header will occur only at the top of the Excel document, the footer will occur only at the bottom of the document, and there won't be any hyperlinks in the Excel document.
Output to emailMark this checkbox to print the report as a specific file type and then send the report via email to the recipients you choose. In theRecipientsfield, enter the recipient's email addresses separated by a semicolon or select the
button and select the addresses from your address book. - SelectOKto print the report to your selected output.
- Select
on the toolbar to exit the report preview.
