Edit multiple clients

The
Edit Multiple Clients
window provides a quick way to add engagements or projects to multiple clients at the same time, or to change client or engagement information for multiple clients at the same time.
note
  • The ability to add projects is available only if you are licensed for the
    Project Management
    module.
  • You can edit all active clients, and inactive clients for whom
    Left
    dates have been entered.

Adding engagements to multiple clients

  1. In the
    Clients
    screen, select
    Edit multiple Clients
    .
  2. In the
    Edit Multiple Clients
    window, select the
    Add Engagements
    option, then select
    Next
    .
  3. In the left pane of the window, select each client you want to add engagements to and then use
    Select
    or
    Select All
    to select all clients at once.
    tip
    Hold down the Shift key while clicking to select multiple consecutive clients, or hold down the Ctrl key to select multiple nonconsecutive clients.
  4. Select
    Next
    .
  5. In the left pane, select each engagement that you want to add to the clients you have selected, or use
    Select All
    to add all of the engagements at the same time.
  6. Select
    Finish
    to add the engagements to the selected clients.

Adding projects to multiple clients

  1. Open the
    Edit Multiple Clients
    window.
    To open the
    Edit Multiple Clients
    window, do 1 of the following:
    • Select
      Setup
      , then
      Clients
      , and then select
      Edit multiple Clients
      at the bottom of the screen.
    • Select
      Actions
      , then
      Manage Projects
      . In the
      Projects
      tab, select 2 or more projects from the list, right-click, and select
      Add Projects to multiple Clients
      .
    • Select
      Actions
      , then
      Manage Clients
      . In the
      Clients
      tab, select 2 or more clients from the list, right-click, and select
      Edit Selected Clients
      .
  2. Do 1 of the following:
    • If you opened the
      Edit Multiple Clients
      window from the
      Clients
      setup screen, select the
      Add Projects
      option. This option is available only if you are licensed for the Project Management module.
    • If you opened the
      Edit Multiple Clients
      window from the
      Manage Projects
      screen, skip to step 4.
  3. Select
    Next
    .
  4. In the left pane of the window, select each client you want to add projects to and then use the
    Select
    or
    Select All
    button to select all clients at the same time.
  5. Select
    Next
    .
  6. In the left pane, select each project that you want to add to the clients you have selected, or use
    Select All
    to add all projects at the same time.
  7. Select
    Finish
    to add the projects to the selected clients.

Changing client information for multiple clients

  1. In the
    Clients
    screen, select the
    Edit multiple Clients
    link.
  2. In the
    Edit Multiple Clients
    window, select the
    Change Client information
    option.
  3. Select
    Next
    .
  4. In the left pane of the window, select the clients you want to edit and select the
    Select
    button to move those clients to the right pane, or use
    Select All
    to select all clients at the same time.
  5. When you're finished selecting clients, select
    Next
    .
  6. In the 1st dropdown list, select the field you want to edit for the selected clients.
  7. In the field next to the dropdown list, select the new value for the selected field.
    note
    The value you select will replace the existing value in this field for each client you have selected.
  8. To edit another field, select
    Add Row
    button and repeat the previous 2 steps to change the value for the selected field.
  9. Select
    Finish
    to update the selected fields for the selected clients.

Changing engagement information for multiple clients

  1. In the
    Edit Multiple Clients
    window, select the
    Change Engagement information
    option.
    To open the
    Edit Multiple Clients
    window, do 1 of the following:
    • Select
      Setup
      ,
      Clients
      , and then select
      Edit multiple Clients
      at the bottom of the screen.
    • Select
      Actions
      , then
      Manage Projects
      . In the
      Projects
      tab, select 2 or more projects from the list, right-click, and select
      Add Projects to multiple Clients
      .
    • Select
      Actions
      , then
      Manage Clients
      . In the
      Clients
      tab, select 2 or more clients from the list, right-click, and select
      Edit Selected Clients
      .
  2. Select
    Next
    .
  3. In the left pane of the window, select the clients whose engagements you want to edit and use the
    Select
    button to move those clients to the right pane, or use the
    Select All
    button to select all clients at the same time.
  4. When you're finished selecting clients, select
    Next
    .
  5. In the left pane of the window, select each engagement that you want to edit and use the
    Select
    button, or the
    Select All
    button to select all engagements at the same time.
  6. Select
    Next
    .
  7. In the 1st dropdown list, select the field you want to change for the selected engagements.
  8. In the field next to the dropdown list, select the new value for the selected field.
    note
    The value you select will replace the existing value in this field for each engagement you have selected.
  9. To edit another field, select
    Add Row
    Plus and repeat the previous 2 steps to change the value for the selected field.
  10. Select
    Finish
    button to update the selected fields for the selected engagements.
