Insert Text Prompt [Standard Text]

The Insert Text Prompt feature lets you require staff to enter specific information when they select a standard text item, so the completed text can be tailored to the current client or task.

Overview

Use the Insert Text Prompt window to trigger a prompt when staff select a standard text item. Staff are prompted to complete the standard text item by entering the information specified in the prompt.
For example, a standard text item might list the tax forms your firm prepared for a client. The prompt could instruct staff to enter a comma-separated list of forms. When a staff member selects that standard text item, the entered list is added to the standard text.

Access the window

To access the Insert Text Prompt window, choose
Setup
Standard Text
, and select the
Insert Text Prompt
button.

How it works

Position the cursor where you want the text prompt to appear, and then select the
Insert Text Prompt
button.
In the
Enter text prompt
field, enter the instructions that staff should follow. Make sure the prompt clearly identifies the information the staff member must enter. When the prompt is used, the entered information is inserted into the standard text.
