Set up scheduling preferences

Configure scheduling preferences to define the conditions that mark a schedule item as urgent in the Manage Staff screen.

This tab is available only if you are licensed for the Staff Management module.
To open the Scheduling tab, do one of the following:
  • Go to
    Setup
    User Preferences
    , then select the
    Scheduling
    tab.
  • Go to
    Actions
    Manage Staff
    . In the Manage Staff screen, select the
    Urgent
    subtab, then the Options button. The Urgent subtab is available in the
    Assignments
    ,
    Schedules
    , and
    Schedule Items
    tabs.

Scheduling preferences

  • Enable Urgent tab
    : Mark this checkbox to display the Urgent tab in the Manage Staff screen. This checkbox is selected by default.
The Urgent tab displays all schedule items that meet the following urgent conditions you define.
Priority
— Flag a schedule item as urgent when it:
  • Has a high priority and is not assigned
  • Has a high priority and is not scheduled
Target dates
— Flag a schedule item as urgent when it:
  • Is past the target start date and is not assigned
  • Is past the target start date and is not scheduled
Due dates
— Flag a schedule item as urgent when it:
  • Is past due
    — The item is past its due date. This checkbox is selected by default.
  • Is due within _ days and not assigned
    — The item is unassigned and due within the number of days you enter.
  • Is due within _ days and not scheduled
    — The item is unscheduled and due within the number of days you enter.
Other
— Flag a schedule item as urgent when it:
  • Is overscheduled
    — The project, task, or to-do item has more scheduled hours than remaining hours.
  • Matches the following filter
    — Mark this checkbox, then select the Options button to create a custom filter that defines when a schedule item is urgent.
