Set up staff target hours

Use the
Targets
tab of the
Staff
setup screen to set target hours for staff and monitor progress toward firm financial goals.
Target hours are an important part of staff scheduling. You can use target hours to establish different targets for different times of year, specify the percentage of hours that should be billable, and define a total billable amount target for a staff member.
You can view staff targets in the
Staff Targets
portlet on the
Firm Dashboard
. Staff members can view their own targets in the
Time Recap
portlet on the
Staff Dashboard
and on the
Time Recap
tab at the bottom of the
Time & Expense Entry
screen.

The
Targets
tab is available only if your firm is licensed for the
Staff Management
module and you have sufficient security permissions to view or edit target hours.
  1. Open the
    Staff
    setup screen.
    Choose
    Setup
    Staff
    .
  2. Open the
    Targets
    tab.
  3. Select the staff member whose target hours you want to set.
    Select the staff member from the
    Staff
    list.
  4. Edit the staff record.
    Select
    Edit
    .
  5. Enter the target date range.
    In the first row, specify the date range for the target hours.

    If the targets apply to the entire year, you can leave the default values of
    01/01
    through
    12/31
    .

    To set up different targets for different times of year, enter one date range per row. Starting dates in subsequent rows default automatically to the day after the previous date range ends.
  6. Enter the target values for each date range.
    Specify the target hours, the percentage of hours that should be billable, and the total billable amount target as needed for the staff member.
  7. Save your changes.

The target hours for the selected staff member are saved and available for scheduling and reporting.
