Staff skill areas

Use the
Staff Skill Areas
screen to define the expertise areas that you want to track for staff members.
To help determine which staff member is most qualified for a particular work item, the application lets you track skill areas for each staff member and a skill rating for each skill. The collection of skill areas and skill ratings assigned to a staff member is called a skill set.
To open the
Staff Skill Areas
screen, choose
Setup
Staff Skill Areas
.

The
Staff Skill Areas
screen is available only if you are licensed for the
Staff Management
module and have security permissions to access it.
If your firm is also licensed for the
Project Management
module, you can use staff skill set filters to help select staff to work on firm projects.

Add a staff skill area

In the
Staff Skill Areas
screen, select
Add
.
In the
Description
field, enter the skill area, such as
Audit
,
Payroll
, or
Pensions
.
The
Description
field is limited to 30 characters and doesn’t let duplicate descriptions.
Select
Enter
.

Modify a staff skill area

In the
Staff Skill Areas
selection list, select the skill area that you want to modify.
Select
Edit
, make the necessary changes to the description, and then select
Enter
to save your changes.
