Submit benefit requests

Submit a request for a scheduled benefit, such as vacation time or a sick day, from the
Scheduled Benefit
window.
Your firm must be licensed for the
Staff Management
module to use the benefits feature.
  1. Open the
    Scheduled Benefit
    window.
    Select
    Add
    on the main toolbar and select
    Scheduled Benefit
    from the dropdown list.
  2. Select the benefit type.
    On the
    Main
    tab, select a value in the
    Accruable Benefit
    field. For example, if your firm has an accruable benefit activity set up for vacation, select
    Vacation
    .
  3. Confirm the request status.
    In the Scheduled Benefit information section, leave the default value,
    Requested
    , in the
    Status
    field.
  4. Enter the benefit dates and times.
    In the Dates / Time section, enter the start and end dates for the benefit.
    If the request is for an all-day event, such as a vacation day, select the
    All day event
    checkbox. Otherwise, enter both the dates and the starting and ending times.
  5. Select the staff member.
    In the Assigned section, select the staff member in the
    Staff
    field. This field defaults to the staff member who is currently logged in.
  6. Set a reminder if needed.
    If you want a reminder before the benefit begins, select the
    Reminder
    checkbox and choose the reminder time from the dropdown list.
  7. Enter notes if needed.
    If necessary, enter additional information in the
    Notes
    field.
  8. Review the schedule.
    Use the
    Scheduling
    tab to review the scheduling of the request.
    You can select and drag the request, or its start and end times, in the timeline in the right pane. Any changes that you make are carried back to the
    Main
    tab.
  9. Complete any custom fields.
    If your firm has set up custom fields for scheduled benefits, select the
    Custom Fields
    tab and enter the required information.
  10. Submit the request.
    Select
    OK
    .
The benefit request is submitted to your supervisor for approval.
