Make a client inactive
When you make a client inactive, the client becomes unavailable in
Time & Expense Entry
and won't be included on list reports and some selection screens. - SelectSetupthenClients.
- Select the client you want to make inactivate then selectEdit.
- SelectInactivefrom theStatusdropdown.noteThis will make all the client's engagements inactive and cancel all open projects associated with the client. If you want to make a client inactive without making engagements inactive and cancelling projects, selectOn Holdfrom theStatusdropdown instead.
- SelectEnterto save.
Make a staff member inactive
If you make a staff member inactive, you prevent time and expense transactions from being entered for that staff member and prevent the staff member from being included on some list reports.
- SelectSetupthenStaff.
- Select the staff member you want to make inactivate thenEdit.
- SelectInactivefrom theStatusdropdown.
- SelectEnterto save the change.noteWhen you make a staff member inactive, you prevent time and expense entries from being entered for that staff member, but the staff member can still access the system. If you don't want the staff member to have access to Practice CS, enter a date in theLeft datefield or go to theSecuritytab and clear all security groups checkboxes.
Make a client engagement inactive for a selected client
If you make a client engagement inactive, you prevent new time and expense entries (WIP) from being entered to this engagement for the client. However, if outstanding unbilled WIP exists on this engagement, the engagement will still be available to bill out and it will appear on reports.
- SelectSetupthenClients.
- Select the client whose engagement you want to make inactivate, then selectEdit.
- Go to theEngagementstab.
- Select the engagement you want to make inactive.
- SelectInactivefrom theStatusdropdown.
- SelectEnterto save.
Make a client engagement inactive for all clients
- SelectSetupthenClients.
- SelectEdit multiple Clients.
- SelectChange Engagement informationthenNext.
- Filter the list of clients, if needed, then selectSelect All.
- SelectNext.
- EnterEngagement Template ID / is / <engagement ID>.to filter the list of client engagements for the engagement you want to make inactive.
- SelectSelect AllthenNext.
- SelectStatusthenInactive.
- SelectFinish.noteIf you have a large number of clients, the process may take several minutes to complete.
- If you want to retire the engagement so it can't be added to new clients in the future:
- SelectSetup,Templates, thenEngagements.
- Select the engagement you want to retire thenEdit.
- SelectInactivefrom theStatusdropdown.
- SelectEnterto save.
Make an activity inactive
When you make an activity inactive, you prevent time and expenses from being entered to that activity.
- SelectSetupthenActivities.
- Select the activity you want to make inactive thenEdit.
- SelectInactivefrom theStatusdropdown.
- SelectEnterto save.
