Is it safe to enter a Social Security Number (SSN)?
Yes, look for HTTPS:// at the beginning of the site URL and a locked padlock symbol in your browser's URL bar to verify you are on a secure site.
Can a taxpayer and spouse use the same email address?
Yes, the taxpayer and spouse can use the same email address for their returns. They’ll each receive their own access link to that address.
After signing, will I receive confirmation that the return was successfully submitted?
Yes, you will receive an email stating it was successful.
Will I receive a notification when the return is ready to sign?
Yes, email notifications regarding your return will be sent from noreply@safesendreturns.com.
Can I set up reminders for the quarterly estimated payment?
Yes, you can do this from the Pay screen.
If a Partner/Shareholder declines to eSign the K-1 how will I know?
The K-1 Distribution Page will show
Declined Consent
. If they happen to decline by accident, select
Resend
so they can access and download.
I’d rather print and sign the e-file authorization forms - Can I do that?
Yes, select
Manually Sign
in the Sign section of your return.
What if I don't receive an email with the access code?
Use the Access Codes Explained article for troubleshooting steps.
When spouses are filing jointly, how can both sign the e-file authorization forms?
The firm will send the return to 1 spouse first, who will complete the signing. At this point, the 2nd spouse will receive the return for signing.
Will I have the option to download and print the return so I can retain the records?
Yes, you can do so during the Review step of the process and after signing is completed.

Google Chrome (preferred), Firefox, Edge, and Safari are all compatible with SafeSend.
