Additional Signature Controls

When processing a document for signature, you can add text checkboxes, checkboxes, and radio buttons in addition to standard signature controls, including options for conditional if/then behavior.

When processing a document for signature, you can add text checkboxes, radio buttons, and checkboxes in addition to the standard signature controls. This article outlines the additional options available for these controls, including if/then answer options for the client.

Control descriptions

  • The
    Text
    checkbox option lets you enter a tooltip for the client. The client can then enter free-form text into the checkbox. This option can be incorporated into an if/then answer option.
  • The
    Check Box
    option lets you enter a tooltip for the client. The client can then choose to select the checkbox or leave it blank if it is not marked as required. This option can be incorporated into an if/then question or answer option.
  • The
    Radio
    option lets you select how many radio buttons to place at once. The client can select only one of these options. This option can be incorporated into an if/then question or answer option.

Text Box

  1. Select the signer.
    • This recipient is prompted to fill the field.
  2. Drag and drop the control onto the page.
  3. Enter a tooltip for the client, if needed.
  4. Clear
    Required
    to make the field optional. By default, the field is required.
  5. Select
    Save
    .
  6. Select and hold
    Move
    to drag the control to another location.
  7. Drag the lower-right corner to resize the checkbox.
    • This lets more text be entered on the client side.
    • The character limit is 150.

Checkbox

  1. Select the signer.
    • This recipient is prompted to fill the field.
  2. Drag and drop the control onto the page.
  3. Enter a tooltip for the client, if needed.
  4. Clear
    Required
    to make the field optional. By default, the field is required.
  5. Select and hold
    Move
    to drag the control to the correct location.
  6. Use the
    Options
    panel to customize the control. Refer to the following sections for more information.

Radio button

  1. Select the signer.
    • This recipient is prompted to fill the field.
  2. Drag and drop the control onto the page.
  3. Select how many radio buttons to add.
  4. Clear
    Required
    to make the field optional. By default, the field is required.
  5. Select
    Add
    .
  6. Select and hold
    Move
    to drag the radio controls to the correct location.
    • Move the radio buttons within the checkbox.
  7. Drag the lower-right corner to resize the checkbox.
  8. Use the
    Options
    panel to customize the control. Refer to the following sections for more information.

Settings

Adjust the properties selected during placement.

Checkbox

  1. Select the
    Gear
    icon in the Options menu.
  2. Select whether the client is required to select the checkbox.
  3. Enter a tooltip for the client, if needed.

Radio Button

  1. Select the
    Gear
    icon in the Options menu.
  2. Select whether the client is required to select a button.
  3. Select the
    Minus
    button to remove a radio button.
  4. Select the
    Add
    button to add a radio button.

Rules

The
Rules
options are the same for checkboxes and radio buttons. If the first condition is met, the selected field appears for the client during signing.
note
The field or fields used for if/then rules must be placed before the
Rules
icon is selected.
  1. Select the
    Rules
    icon in the Options menu.
  2. Select which
    Option
    to apply the rule to for radio buttons.
  3. Select
    Select Fields
    .
  4. Select the plus button on one of the existing fields on the form.
    • This field appears to the client if the previous condition is met.
  5. Select
    Done
    to save your changes.
  6. Select the
    X
    next to the field to remove it, if needed.

Duplicate

  1. Select the
    Duplicate
    icon in the Options menu to duplicate the control.

Delete

  1. Select the
    Delete
    icon in the Options menu to remove the control.
