Configure general settings
Use the General section to update notification and reminder preferences that apply before delivery.

Source document notification
After you turn on
Source Documents
, select how often you want to receive notifications for the client upload and deletion events:- SelectSend notification every time client Uploads/Deletes a source documentto receive an email for every upload and deletion event.
- SelectSend scheduled notification once per day, if client Uploaded/Deleted source document(s)to receive 1 daily summary email of all upload and deletion events.
- SelectSource Document Upload Notification Disabledto turn off notifications for upload and deletion events.

The program sends completion notifications to the person assigned to upload events in the delivery options section. Refer to Process a Gather Request for more details about this notification setting.
- SwitchDocument Upload Completion NotificationtoOnto receive a notification when the client has completed uploading all the source documents.
- SelectSend a Notification when __ of requested source documents is reachedto receive a notification when the client uploads the selected percentage of documents.
- SelectSend a Notification when __ of requested K-1 documents is reachedto receive a notification when the client uploads the selected percentage of K-1.

Set the default frequency for automated reminders to help clients complete any unfinished tasks. Note that the program doesn’t send automated reminders for archived items or items marked as completed or closed.
- MarkEnable Automatic Remindersto turn on automatic reminders.
- Select theSend a reminder every. . .dropdown to select how often the program sends reminders.
- SelectApplyto save your changes.
Engagement type
Use this section to add and edit engagement types to apply to newly uploaded Gather requests.
Add
- SelectAddto add a new engagement type.
- Enter the name of theEngagement Type.
- Select anEngagement Categoryfrom the dropdown.
- arkSave as Defaultto make this the default engagement type for all new uploads.
- SelectSave.
Edit
- SelectEditto edit an existing type.
- SelectDeleteto delete an engagement type.noteDeleting an engagement type doesn’t affect any items that have already been delivered or uploaded. You can only delete engagement types that you have added.
Source document retention policy for engagement categories
Set the default retention period for source documents by engagement type. After documents expire, their records remain available, but you can no longer download the documents.
- Switch theAutomatically delete. . .option to turn on or turn offSource Document Retention.
- Select the. . .delete received source documents afterdropdown to select how long the program retains source documents.
- SelectApplyto save your changes.
File Type Restriction
Use this section to restrict the types of files clients can upload in the request documents step.
- Enter the file extension without a period (for example: jpg).
- Use theEnterkey on your keyboard.
