Configure general settings

Use the General section to update notification and reminder preferences that apply before delivery.
note
Only system administrators can access the
Settings
section.
Gather source document
Source document notification
After you turn on
Source Documents
, select how often you want to receive notifications for the client upload and deletion events:
  • Select
    Send notification every time client Uploads/Deletes a source document
    to receive an email for every upload and deletion event.
  • Select
    Send scheduled notification once per day, if client Uploaded/Deleted source document(s)
    to receive 1 daily summary email of all upload and deletion events.
  • Select
    Source Document Upload Notification Disabled
    to turn off notifications for upload and deletion events.
Select
Apply
to save your changes.
Set completion notifications
The program sends completion notifications to the person assigned to upload events in the delivery options section. Refer to Process a Gather Request for more details about this notification setting.
  • Switch
    Document Upload Completion Notification
    to
    On
    to receive a notification when the client has completed uploading all the source documents.
  • Select
    Send a Notification when __ of requested source documents is reached
    to receive a notification when the client uploads the selected percentage of documents.
  • Select
    Send a Notification when __ of requested K-1 documents is reached
    to receive a notification when the client uploads the selected percentage of K-1.

Apply
to save your changes.
Automatic reminders
Set the default frequency for automated reminders to help clients complete any unfinished tasks. Note that the program doesn’t send automated reminders for archived items or items marked as completed or closed.
  1. Mark
    Enable Automatic Reminders
    to turn on automatic reminders.
  2. Select the
    Send a reminder every. . .
    dropdown to select how often the program sends reminders.
  3. Select
    Apply
    to save your changes.
Engagement type
Use this section to add and edit engagement types to apply to newly uploaded Gather requests.
Add
  1. Select
    Add
    to add a new engagement type.
  2. Enter the name of the
    Engagement Type
    .
  3. Select an
    Engagement Category
    from the dropdown.
  4. ark
    Save as Default
    to make this the default engagement type for all new uploads.
  5. Select
    Save
    .
Edit
  1. Select
    Edit
    to edit an existing type.
  2. Select
    Delete
    to delete an engagement type.
    note
    Deleting an engagement type doesn’t affect any items that have already been delivered or uploaded. You can only delete engagement types that you have added.
Source document retention policy for engagement categories
Set the default retention period for source documents by engagement type. After documents expire, their records remain available, but you can no longer download the documents.
  1. Switch the
    Automatically delete. . .
    option to turn on or turn off
    Source Document Retention
    .
  2. Select the
    . . .delete received source documents after
    dropdown to select how long the program retains source documents.
  3. Select
    Apply
    to save your changes.
File Type Restriction
Use this section to restrict the types of files clients can upload in the request documents step.
  1. Enter the file extension without a period (for example: jpg).
  2. Use the
    Enter
    key on your keyboard.
