Compose a New Secure Message Online

Create a secure online message, add recipients and attachments, and select delivery and authentication options.
SafeSend lets you send secure messages to any email address from the online mailbox. You can enter a message, attach files, and select authentication options if your firm settings let them.
To send a message from Outlook, refer to Composing a New Secure Message From the Outlook Plug-In.

Recipients and message content

When you compose a secure message online, you can send it to one or more recipients.
  • Enter recipient email addresses in the
    To
    field.
  • If a recipient is already listed in Client Management, you can begin entering the client name to auto-populate the information.
  • Each recipient uses an individual access code or security question for authentication.
  • Add a
    Subject
    and message content for the recipient.
  • Use formatting options such as bold, highlighting, centering, and indentation as needed.

Attachments and preview

You can include supporting files with the message before sending it.
  • Use
    Attach
    to add files.
  • You can also drag and drop files directly into the message.
  • Use
    Preview
    to review the message, attachments, recipients, and authentication methods before delivery.

Draft, settings, and delivery options

Messages can be discarded, saved, scheduled, or sent immediately.
  • Discard
    closes the window and deletes the message.
  • Save Draft
    stores the message in the
    Drafts
    section of the mailbox.
  • The
    Settings
    tab lets you define the tax year, retention period, and authentication method.
  • Send
    delivers the message immediately to all recipients.
  • Schedule Send
    lets you select when the message is delivered.
  • Scheduled messages remain in the
    Drafts
    folder until they are sent, edited, or removed.
