Download and Install the Outlook Add-in

Download the SafeSend Secure File Transfer Outlook Add-in and install it in Outlook using the XML add-in file.
The SafeSend Secure File Transfer Outlook Plug-In lets users send and receive items in the Outlook desktop application instead of working online.

Download the Outlook Add-in

The download for the SafeSend Secure File Transfer Outlook Plug-In is available in the
Product Settings
 section.

Only System Administrators have access to the
Product Settings
 section.
Administrators can download the installation file and distribute it to users by email.
  1. Select the
    Navigation Widget
    .
  2. Select
    Product Settings
    .
  3. Select
    Download
     under
    General
    Product Downloads
    Web Add-in
    .

This action downloads the XML file automatically to your local computer. You can share the XML file with others in your company or place it in a shared location so anyone in your organization can access it.
Don’t open the XML file directly. It needs to be uploaded to Outlook and doesn’t open an installer.

Install the Outlook Add-in

The plug-in is installed in Outlook as a custom add-in.
  1. Select
    File
    .
  2. Select
    Info
     in the left panel.
  3. Select
    Manage Add-ins
     to open Outlook online.
  4. Select
    My add-ins
     in the left panel.
  5. Select the
    Add a custom add-in
     dropdown.
  6. Select
    Add from File...
     to open your file browser.
  7. Select the SafeSend Secure File Transfer XML file. The file name may differ from the screenshot.
  8. Select
    Open
     to upload the file.
  9. Select
    Install
     in the
    Warning
     pop-up.
You may need to close and restart Outlook before the changes take effect. Installation is complete when the plug-in appears in the
Home
 ribbon in Outlook.
