Set up and manage ERO signature stamps for e-file forms, including automatic placement, delegation, and partner signature settings.

The
Signature Stamps
feature lets users place an image of the ERO's signature on e-file authorization forms. Users can place signature stamps manually when processing a return, or configure them to apply automatically.
note
- Many tax application programs automatically place signature stamps on exported returns. If your tax application uses this feature, don’t turn on Signature Stamps in Returns.
- WhenSignature Stampsis turned on, at least 1 ERO signature is required to deliver a return. If no signature stamp is applied, users will receive an error.
- The system substitutes the company name on e-file forms if the selected ERO/Signer hasn't:
- Uploaded a signature stamp.
- Set their signature to apply automatically.
Turn on ERO Signature Stamps

Only System Administrators have access to the
Settings
section. - Go to Returns.
- SelectSettingsin the left panel.
- SelectE-Sign Options.
- Go to theAllow ERO Signature Stampssection.
- Select the checkboxUse ERO Signature Stamps.
- Select the checkbox forEnable ERO Stamp Delegationto let partners delegate the placement of signature stamps (optional).
- SelectApply.
Setting Up a User as an ERO
For a user to appear as an ERO selection when uploading a return, they must be in the
Partner
user group.note
Only a system administrator can make the following changes.
- Go toAccount Management.
- SelectUser Management.
- SelectEditforActionsfor that user.
- arkPartnerin theUser Groupslist.
- This will automatically be added to theUser Groupsection.
- SelectUpdateto save any changes made.
Adding ERO Stamps and Adjusting Settings
Users who are in the
Partner
group can add and edit their own signature stamp settings. System administrators can also add or edit signature stamps for partners via Account Management > User Management

The logged-in user must be designated as a Partner to add a signature stamp to their profile.
- Go toReturns.
- Select theUser Profiledropdown.
- SelectMy Settings.
- SelectUpload Signaturein the pop-up and select a file from your computer.
- Signature stamps must be 300 x 100 pixels or smaller.
- Supported file types include JPG, BMP, or PNG.
- A white background is recommended.
- Mark the checkbox forAutomatically place my signature stamp on e-file formsto have Returns automatically place signature stamps on e-file forms for this ERO (optional).
- SelectAllow other users to apply my signatureif ERO Stamp Delegation is enabled.
- SelectSelect Usersto choose the users who can apply this ERO's signature stamp (optional).
- SelectSave & Close.
System Administrator: Adding an ERO Signature Stamp and Adjusting Settings
System Administrators have access to all of a partner's settings, including their delegation list.

- Go toAccount Management.
- SelectUser Management.
- Locate the partner and select theellipses(...)from the action menu.
- SelectERO Signature.
- SelectUpload Signatureand select a file from your computer.
- Signature stamps must be 300 x 100 pixels or smaller.
- Supported file types include JPG, BMP, or PNG.
- A white background is recommended.
- Mark the checkbox forAutomatically place __ signature stamp on e-file formsto have Returns automatically place signature stamps in e-file forms for this ERO (optional).
- SelectAllow other users to apply __ signatureif ERO Stamp Delegation is enabled.
- SelectSelect Usersto choose the users who can apply this ERO's signature stamp (optional).
- Turn theDefault ERO/Signerswitch toONto change this user's default ERO/Signer when they upload returns.
- SelectSave & Close.
