The following outlines the purpose of the
Bulk Action Icons
in the
Delivered Returns
report, and how to use them. This reporting section shows all returns that are delivered to the client but not archived.
note
One or more returns can be edited at the same time using the
Bulk Action Icons
. You can include more items per page by selecting the filter at the bottom.
Set access
You can restrict access on any return to the people of your choice. Administrators can select a default for this feature by going to
Settings
, then
Security
.
  1. Mark the checkbox next to the taxpayer's name.
  2. Select
    Set Access
    .
  3. Drag and drop
    Available Users
    to the
    Users with Access Rights
    section.
  4. Drag and drop
    Available User Groups
    to the
    User Groups with Access Rights
    section.
  5. Select
    Save
    .
Change status
You can change the status of a return by selecting
Change Status
. Change returns in any status except
Signed, Uploaded
and
Signed, and E-Signed.
  1. Mark the checkbox next to the taxpayer's name.
  2. Select
    Change Status
    .
  3. Select the dropdown to change the status:
    • Awaiting E-Sign
      to
      Manually Signed
      .
    • Manually Signed
      to
      Awaiting E-Sign
      or
      Awaiting Upload
      .
    • Awaiting Upload
      to
      Manually Signed
      .
    • Partially Signed
      to
      Signed And E-Signed
      .
  4. Select
    Save
    to update the Status.
Custom column
This option is dedicated to the
Custom Column
that can be created in the General Return settings.
  1. Mark the checkbox to the left of the taxpayer's name.
  2. Select
    Change <Column Name>
    . In this example, the column name is
    Location
    .
  3. Select an option from the dropdown.
  4. Select
    Save
    to update the column.
Send a reminder
You can send reminders immediately or adjust the automated signing and voucher reminders for returns as needed. You can also adjust this setting in the
Action
menu for a specific return.
Send Reminder Now
  1. Mark the checkbox next to the taxpayer's name.
  2. Select
    Send Reminder
    .
  3. Select the
    Send Reminder Now
    tab.
  4. Mark the
    Send Signing Reminder
    checkbox.
  5. Select
    Send
    to deliver the reminder immediately.
Schedule Automated Reminder
note
Select
Send Reminder
Schedule Automated Reminder
to review your firm's default settings. Select
Action
to view the current settings for a specific return.
  1. Mark the checkbox next to the taxpayer's name.
  2. Select
    Send Reminder
    .
  3. Select the
    Schedule Automated Reminder
    tab.
  4. Turn
    Voucher or Signing
    reminders on or off.
  5. Select a voucher reminder from the
    Send Voucher Reminder before
    dropdown.
  6. Select a signing reminder from the
    Send Signing Reminder before
    dropdown.
    note
    Automated reminders to sign won’t be delivered after the filing deadline.
  7. Select
    Save
    to apply your changes.
Archive
You can move completed returns to help keep your
Delivered Returns
report more organized (recommended). Clients can still access archived returns and still receive signing/voucher reminders for archived returns.
  1. Mark the checkbox next to the taxpayer's name.
  2. Select
    Archive
    .
  3. Select
    Yes
    to move the return to the
    Archive Returns
    section.
You can restore a document from the
Archive Returns
section.
  1. Go to the
    Archived Returns
    section.
  2. Mark the checkbox next to the taxpayer's name.
  3. Select
    Restore
    .
  4. Select
    Yes
    to move the return to the
    Delivered Returns
    section.
Download e-file forms
You can download completed e-file forms as a ZIP file. Depending on your
My Settings
selections, the documents will either be downloaded to your PC or to the
My Downloads
folder in SafeSend Returns.

You can only download returns with a status of
E-signed
or
Uploaded
.
  1. Mark the checkbox next to the taxpayer's name.
  2. Select
    Download e-file Forms
    .

Downloaded
column in the
Delivered Returns
report for more information.
Delete & restore
When a return is deleted, it is placed into the
Recycle Bin
, where it can either be restored or permanently deleted. Permanent deletion is not recommended.
Delete
  1. Mark the checkbox next to the taxpayer's name.
  2. Select
    Delete
    .
  3. Select
    Confirm
    .
Restore
  1. Go to the
    Recycle Bin
    following
    Tax Returns
    .
  2. Mark the checkbox next to the taxpayer's name.
  3. Select
    Restore
    .
  4. Select
    Confirm
    .
The return moves to the
Delivered Returns
section.
Change office location
You can edit the assigned office location for multiple returns at once.
note
  • You can only view returns assigned to
    Office Locations
    you have permission to use.
  • If the location changes to a location you can't access, you can't view those returns.
  • Update the
    Contact Person
    for the returns so they match the new office location.
  • Updating the office location here also updates the
    Client Management
    record.

    Office Location
    to assign to the returns.
  4. Select a
    Contact Person
    for the returns.

Send to GoFileRoom
The GoFileRoom integration maps eSigned SafeSend Returns to drawers and indexes. Send files directly to GoFileRoom from the Delivered Returns report.

Release e-file
The GoSystem® e-file integration lets you e-file tax returns from SafeSend Returns. This streamlines the e-file process.
