Delivered and archived returns statuses
After a return is delivered to a client, it moves to the
Delivered Returns
page. The Status
reflects whether the delivery was successful or the status of the current signing process.When you archive a return, it moves to the
Archive Returns
page. The statuses are identical to the Delivered Returns
page. Refer to the following entries for more information. Status | Description |

Alternate and Uploaded | A person uploaded documents to a Download to PDF return. In the Finish window, select Download to PDF as a delivery option. When the downloaded PDF is signed by the client, upload it by going to More Actions (...) and selecting Upload Forms . |
Alternate Delivery | A person selected Download to PDF .In the Finish window, select Download to PDF as a delivery option. |
Awaiting E-Sign | The client received a return, but no signers completed the signature process. |
Awaiting Review | The extension was set to Review Only and has pending reviews. |
Signature Stamping Failed | An error occurred and the signature wasn't recorded. The return needs to be recalled and redelivered. |
Awaiting Upload | The taxpayer hasn’t uploaded their manually signed documents. These scenarios apply to manual signatures:

Delivered to TaxCaddy | TaxCaddy received the return for e-signing. Returns won’t track or show any further changes to the return. This status applies when a client has an integration with TaxCaddy. |
E-Signed | All clients e-signed the return. |
E-Signed - In Office | The clients e-signed in the office. |
Manually Signed | Someone at the firm changed the return status. Apply this status by selecting global Change Status . |
Partially Reviewed | Only 1 taxpayer reviewed a married filing joint extension. |
Partially Signed | 1 taxpayer e-signed the return. note
This status only applies to returns that are marked as married and filing jointly . |
Reviewed | All parties reviewed the extension. |
Signed & E-Signed | Someone at the firm changed the return status. Apply this status by selecting global Change Status .note
This status only applies to returns that are marked as married and filing jointly .When a taxpayer uses eSign, they can download it. |
TaxCaddy Delivery Failed | A return sent to TaxCaddy for e-signing couldn’t be delivered. This status only applies to TaxCaddy integration. |
Uploaded | A taxpayer uploaded manually signed documents. |
Awaiting Draft Review | A draft return was delivered but hasn’t been fully reviewed by the taxpayer. |
Draft Approved | The taxpayer approved a draft return. |
Draft Not Approved | The taxpayer requested changes to their draft return. |
Final Return Copy Created | A final return copy was created from the delivered draft return. |
