Processing: E-file

Review e-file forms, assign signature blocks to taxpayers and spouses, and apply ERO signature stamps to returns that require a signature before delivery.
This section contains all the pages that require a taxpayer's signature to complete the document.

E-file forms

  1. Review the
    E-File Forms
    to make sure all are listed with the correct
    Authority
    and
    Form Name
    (that is, Federal IRS 8879).
  2. Select the
    Edit Authority
    pencil icon to open the
    Specify Authority
    window.
  3. Select the correct
    Authority
    from the dropdown.
  4. Select
    Update
    to save any changes.

E-signatures

Add signature blocks to the form as needed.
  1. Select the
    Recipient
    dropdown to select the taxpayer or spouse (only available for 1040 returns). Signature blocks associated with that signer are denoted by a gray-shaded border.
  2. Drag and drop
    Signature Blocks
    onto the selected page. The block is assigned to the selected taxpayer.

    • Text
  3. Select the
    X
    to delete the block.

ERO signature stamp

ERO Signature Stamps are applied to the page automatically if it's turned on.
  1. Select an
    ERO
    stamp to apply to the return.
  2. Drag and drop an
    ERO Signature Stamp
    onto the selected page.
  3. Drag and drop an
    ERO Date Signed Field
    onto the selected page.
  4. Select the
    X
    to delete the block.
  5. Switch
    Do not insert dates on the E-File forms
    on to remove date blocks on the e-file forms.
