Submit returns and extensions
Upload client tax returns and extensions for processing, and understand the initial processing steps that follow.
Upload
- SelectUpload.
- Select the tax application.
- Drag the client copy to the upload area or selectChoose File.noteCCH only: Select up to 30 individual returns to upload at once.
- TheUpload Progressbar turns green when the upload is complete.
- Verify or edit theClient ID.
- Enter aGroup Namefor the return to assign it to a new or existing group (optional).
- SelectOffice Location.
- SelectSet Accessto edit access permissions as needed.noteThis will initially showRestrictedorEveryonebased on the security settings.
- Mark theNo K1 Packagecheckbox to upload a 1065, 1120S, or 1041 return without K-1s.
- SelectSubmit.
Initial processing
- If turned on in the user's My Settings menu, a notification is delivered to the uploader letting them know if the upload was successful or not.
- TheSend Tax Returnssection displays once you selectSubmit.
- If theStatuscolumn showsUPLOADED, the assembly process isn't yet complete.
- TheStatuschanges toREADYafter assembly is completed.
- Make sure theName,Client ID, andTypecolumns contain information.
- If the status is anything other thanREADY, there was an issue reading the return.noteThe ERO automatically populates based on the PTIN on the return, a matching ID in Client Management, or the user's My Settings default, in that order. If none of these apply, select an ERO during processing.
- Find the return.
- SelectProcessto open the return.
