Tickmarks: Symbols, Numbers & Letters

TicTie Calculate comes with preinstalled tickmarks that include symbols, numbers, and letters. You can also add custom symbols. You can place these tickmarks throughout the PDF to prepare source documents in a digital environment.

The following applies to TicTie Calculate version 5.x and 6.x. Refer to the Check your version of TicTie Calculate article for more information.
Using Tickmarks
On the TicTie Calculate toolbar, select the
Symbols
,
Numbers
,
Letters
, or
Custom Symbols
.
  • Symbols (Alphabetical)
  • Numbers (1 – 40)
  • Letters (A – Z)
You can switch through the tickmarks in 1 location in TicTie Calculate
Tools
. Once you select 1 of the Tickmark options, you get the following options.
Place Tickmarks
  1. Select the
    symbol
    ,
    number
    , or
    letter
    . The mouse cursor will change to the selected tickmark.
  2. Select
    PDF
    to place a Tickmark. The mouse cursor remains as the selected Tickmark until you turn it off.
  3. Select the
    Text Select
    or
    Hand
    on the toolbar.
  4. You can also close the
    Tickmark
    window.
Resize Tickmarks
  1. Select a tickmark to form a boundary box.
  2. Right-click and hold a corner of the boundary box then drag the mouse to resize it.
Move Tickmarks
  1. Select the tickmark to form a boundary box.
  2. You can move using the arrow keys. The selector tool lets you drag it directly to where you want it to be.
Delete Tickmarks
  1. Left-click the mouse to form a boundary box so you can delete the Tickmark.
  2. Select
    Delete
    on the keyboard.
  3. You can also select the Tickmark you want to delete, right-click the mouse for the submenu, then select
    Delete
    .
Custom Symbols
You can upload images for custom Tickmarks to use.
  1. Select the
    Symbols
    ,
    Numbers
    or
    Letters
    option in the TicTie Calculate toolbar.
  2. Select the
    Custom Tickmarks
    tab.
  3. Select
    Upload
    to open your file browser.
  4. Select an image file.
  5. Select
    Open
    , then select
    OK
    in the information window.
  6. Select
    Close
    , then reopen Adobe to find the custom symbol to use.
Tickmarks Preferences
Set default settings for your Tickmarks.
  1. In the TicTie Calculate menu, select
    Preferences
    .
  2. Go to the
    Tickmarks
    tab to select your
    Symbol, Number
    and
    Letter Defaults
    .
  3. Select the default
    Color
    and
    Size
    .
  4. Select
    Auto-Increment
    if you want the numbers and letters to change in ascending order as you stamp.
  5. Select
    Last Used
    so the system remembers the last Tickmark used. When you select the
    Symbols
    ,
    Numbers
    or
    Letters
    , the most recently used Tickmark is automatically selected.
