Rollforward Integration

For an engagement integrated with Engagement Manager, SMART Practice Aids allows you to launch the SMART Practice Aids Rollforward process from engagement rollforward in Engagement Manager.
During the rollforward process in Engagement Manager, two options are available for SMART workpapers—
  • Replace from SMART
     - This is the default selection. When selected, a placeholder workpaper is created in the rolled forward engagement.
  • Exclude
    - The workpaper is excluded from the rolled forward engagement.

How Rollforward Integration works:

  1. When you choose to rollforward an engagement in Engagement Manager, all workpapers in the engagement including SMART workpapers are listed on the
    Workpaper Roll Forward Settings
     screen of the Roll Forward wizard. The action to be taken for each workpaper upon rollforward is listed under the
    Roll Forward
     column. To change the default/selected option:
    1. Right-click the workpaper reference and select
      Workpaper Properties
      . The
      Workpaper Properties
       window box is displayed.
    2. Select the desired option (
      Replace from SMART
       or
      Exclude
      ).from the
      Roll Forward
       field drop-down on the
      General
       tab.
    3. Click
      OK
      .
  2. When you have selected the desired option for all your workpapers, click
    Next
    . The
    New Workpaper Properties
     screen of the Roll Forward wizard is displayed with a list of all workpapers that will be included in the new engagement.
  3. If you have no further changes, click
    OK
    . The
    PPC's SMART Practice Aids Integration
     screen of the Roll Forward wizard is displayed with the linked SMART engagement information.
    note
    The
    Roll forward linked engagement
     option is checked by default. When checked, SMART is launched with the appropriate roll forward information from Engagement Manager. Engagement Manager passes the original workpaper ID with the corresponding new workpaper ID. Workpapers that are not rolled forward do not include a new workpaper ID.
    note
    If a SMART engagement is not linked, the
    PPC's SMART Practice Aids Integration
     screen of the roll forward Wizard does not appear.
  4. Click
    OK
    . You will see that SMART workpapers with the Roll Forward option
    Replace from SMART
     selected are replaced with a placeholder type workpaper in the new engagement. Upon completion of the rollforward process, workpapers can be uploaded to Engagement Manager. Place holders are replaced with the newly created workpapers.
