Allow Multi-User
You have the option, when opening an existing engagement, to allow multiple users to work on the engagement at the same time. Otherwise, other users who have access to the engagement will only be able to open the engagement in read-only mode.
To set the option to allow multi-user:
- On theFilemenu, clickOpen(or click theOpenbutton on the tool bar).The Open Client Engagement window appears.
- Select theAllow multi-user for this engagementcheck box. This option allows multiple users to edit parts of the engagement at the same time.noteSelect theDo not allow multi-user for this engagementcheck box to restrict all other users to read-only access. TheDo not allow multi-user for this engagementcheck box is the default selection.
If an engagement is already in use with the
Do not allow multi-user for this engagement
check box selected, a lock symbol appears to the left of the engagement. If you attempt to open a locked engagement, a message informs you that you can only open the engagement as read-only.To unlock a locked engagement:
- On theToolsmenu, clickOptions, and then clickApplication Settings.The Options – Application Settings window appears.
- Click theMulti-Usertab of theOptions – Application Settingswindow.
- Select the multi-user option that you want to apply to the engagement.noteWhen switching from theDo not allowoption to theAllowoption, you must first save the engagement.
