Release a lock on an engagement

The option to release locks appears whenever you save an engagement with Multi-User turned on.
You will receive the following options when saving an engagement:
  • Select
    Release Locks
    to allow other users to edit the form. If you want to perform edits on the form in the future, you will have to elect to edit the form again.
  • Select
    Keep Locks
    to keep other users from editing the form. You alone will continue to have the ability to edit the form.
  • Mark the
    Maintain this setting for me
    checkbox if you want to continuing using
    Release Locks
    or
    Keep Locks
    as your selection while you continue editing and saving forms. This will automate the setting you select and prevent this prompt from appearing whenever you save a form. To turn off
    Maintain this setting for me
    :
    1. Select
      Tools
      , then
      Options
      , then
      Application Settings
      .
    2. Select the
      Multi-User
      tab in the Options - Application Settings window.
    3. Mark the
      Enable prompt to keep or release locks after save
      checkbox.
      Your current setting (either
      Release Locks
      or
      Keep Locks
      ) is displayed below this checkbox.
    4. Select
      Close
      .
      The Save window again prompts you to Release Locks or Keep Locks whenever you save the engagement. Once you release locks for a form, another user can open and edit the form.
