Amendments to PAS 1
Classification of Liabilities as Current or Non-current and Non-current liabilities with Covenants
  • Clarifies how to classify liabilities as current vs non‑current—an entity must have an unconditional right to defer settlement at the end of the reporting period; the likelihood of exercising that right does not affect classification; and terms of a convertible liability affect classification unless the embedded derivative is itself an equity instrument.
  • Apply retrospectively with required disclosures; early adoption is allowed but must be disclosed, and early adopters must apply both the 2020 and 2022 amendments together.
Amendments to PFRS 16
Lease Liability in a Sale and Leaseback
  • Specifies the requirements that a seller-lessee uses in measuring the lease liability arising in a sale and leaseback transaction, to ensure the seller-lessee does not recognize any amount of the gain or loss that relates to the right of use it retains.
  • Effective for annual periods beginning on or after Jan 1, 2024 (early adoption allowed with disclosure) and applied retrospectively under PAS 8 to sale leaseback transactions entered into after the entity's initial application date of PFRS 16.
Amendments to PAS 7 and PFRS 7
Disclosures: Supplier Finance Agreements
  • Specifies disclosure requirements to assist users of financial statements in understanding the effects of supplier finance arrangements on an entity’s liabilities, cash flows and exposure to liquidity risk.
  • Effective for annual periods beginning on or after January 1, 2024; early adoption is allowed but must be disclosed.
Amendments to PAS 21
Lack of Exchangeability
  • Specifies how an entity should assess whether a currency is exchangeable and how it should determine a spot exchange rate when exchangeability is lacking.
  • When applying the amendments, an entity cannot restate comparative information.
Amendments to PFRS 9 and PFRS 7
Classification and Measurement of Financial Instruments
  • Clarifies that:
  • a financial liability is derecognized on the ‘settlement date’,
  • how to assess the contractual cash flow characteristics of financial assets that include environmental, social and governance (ESG)-linked features and other similar contingent features.
  • the treatment of non-recourse assets and contractually linked instruments.
  • Refines assessment of cash flows for assets with ESG/contingent features, addresses nonrecourse assets and contractually linked instruments, expands PFRS 7 disclosures (contingent-term instruments and FVOCI equity), and allows early adoption for asset classification amendments with related disclosures.
Amendments to PFRS 9 and PFRS 7
Contracts Referencing Nature-dependent Electricity
  • Updates own use and hedging rules for nature dependent electricity contracts: unused output sales can qualify for own use if criteria are met (apply retrospectively without restating), and entities may designate a variable nominal volume as the hedged item in cash flow hedges (apply prospectively to new hedges).
  • Introduces new PFRS 7 disclosures to explain the effects on financial performance and cash flows, including specific disclosures for contracts excluded from PFRS 9 by these amendments.
Annual Improvements to PFRS Accounting Standards
Volume 11
  • Annual improvements to PFRS Accounting Standards include – Amendments to PFRS 1, Hedge Accounting by a First-time Adopter; Amendments to PFRS 7, Gain or Loss on Derecognition; Amendments to PFRS 9; Amendments to PFRS 10, Determination of a ‘De Facto Agent’ and Amendments to PAS 7, Cost Method.
PFRS 18
Presentation and Disclosures in Financial Statements
  • Allows eligible entities to elect to apply the standard’s reduced disclosure requirements while still applying the recognition, measurement and presentation requirements in other IFRS accounting standards.
PFRS 19
Subsidiaries without Public Accountability: Disclosures
  • Permits eligible entities to choose to apply the standard's reduced disclosure requirements while continuing to adhere to the recognition, measurement, and presentation requirements of other IFRS accounting standards.
  • The application of the standard is optional for eligible entities. Early adoption is permitted, and this must be disclosed.
Amendments to PFRS 10 and PAS 28
Consolidated Financial Statements and Sale or Contribution of Assets between an Investor and its Associate or Joint Venture
  • Resolves the PFRS 10 vs PAS 28 conflict: recognize a full gain/loss when the sale or contribution to an associate/joint venture involves a business (per PFRS 3); for asset transfers that are not a business, recognize gain/loss only up to the interests of unrelated investors.
  • Apply the amendments prospectively; early adoption is permitted and must be disclosed.

Additional information

  • We created additional folders at the bottom of each annual report folder level and category structure to store dated content. Review these elements and create duplicates if you need to retain them. We'll review the
Pre 2024 [to be reviewed for deletion YE 2029]
folder for deletion in the next 4 years.
To display appendix breakdown in the cover page contents list, move the 'Appendices' folder from the 'Financial statements' folder and place it at the same level as financial statements.
  • We added an option to display appendix breakdown in contents lists. The notes to financial statements already display the appendix breakdown. The cover page contents list currently shows only the appendix header.
  • We added new
    AppendixGUID
    and
    ShowAppendix
variables to the cover page contents list.
  • To display appendix breakdown in the cover page contents list, move the
    Appendices
    folder from the
    Financial statements
folder and place it at the same level as financial statements.

Known issues

  • We have made the upgraded OAP file for version 6.29.9459 available in this release pack. We have an issue with the report display elements even when they show as
    Never
    .
  • Grid headers can take up to 60 characters only. We previously linked all column headers to the grid column. When a column header exceeds 60 characters, you must remove the link on the header to the grid column and enter the complete heading manually.
