Close a financial period

Closing a financial period enables you to make a financial period read-only. After you close a financial period, you can no longer make any edits to the financial period.
  1. Select the entity name to expand options and select
    Close Financial Period
    .
  2. Select
    Yes, Close
    .

    When a financial period's closed, the reports can be viewed in Preview mode only and can't be reviewed in Design mode. The journal functionality is disabled, as well as re-assigning accounts. An entity can have a financial period closed and opened as many times as is useful as part of your financial statement preparation and fictionalization process. To reopen a financial period, select the closed financial period you want to unlock and then
    Open Financial Period
    .
