XBRL validations

Reports containing common XBRL errors can be validated and corrected in the report.
First discover if the report elements have errors.
  1. Open a financial period.
  2. Select
    Render a Report
    .
  3. Toggle the
    Display XBRL
    to green to view the elements with errors.
  4. To view the error definitions, select
    Report Options
    ,
    XBRL Validations
    .
    1. The XBRL Validations lists the errors, name of the report, and the total number of errors on the report.
    2. The same concept of errors are grouped together for clarity.
  5. If the error description is long and not completely visible, hover over the error to bring up a tool tip that displays the complete error.
  6. You can also copy the text and paste it to a Word document to read the errors more clearly.
  7. To export the XBRL errors to Excel, select
    Export
    , and save the file.
  8. To validate the XBRL errors, select the error. You're taken to the section of the report with the error and the report element with the error's highlighted in the report structure. Hidden tags won't display on the report, but will be highlighted in the report structure.
  9. Resolve each error.
  10. Select
    Refresh
    to clear the error from the screen and to refresh the total number of errors until they're all resolved. If there are new errors in the report, the panel will automatically update with the new error.
