Organizer pages

You can choose whether you want data captured from organizer pages and whether you want organizer pages to be shown in the Review Wizard.
note
This option doesn't apply to 1041 binder types.
  1. Select
    FileRoom
    ,
    Admin
    ,
    Tax Return
    .
    Select Admin the TAX RETURN.
  2. (Optional) Use the location dropdown to select the office location. The tax return option changes will apply to the selected office location.
    note
When selecting tax return options, if no office location is selected, then the blank location (first option) settings will be used by default. Any new office location added will inherit the blank location settings.

  3. Go to the
    Organizer Page(s)
    section.
  4. Under
Capture data from the following organizer page(s)
, select 1 of the following:
    • All
: Select this option to capture data from all the organizer pages uploaded in the return.
    • Essential
: Select this option if you want to bookmark the organizer pages only and you don't want to capture any data from them.
      note
The identifier fields from single entity organizer pages (like Schedule C, Schedule E, Schedule F) will appear for verification. However, data will not be exported to the tax software. This helps match and index these documents in their respective folders in SPbinder.
    Organizer Pages options
    tip
    We recommend you select
    Essential
. Handwriting on organizer pages can be difficult for OCR to recognize and may require numerous corrections in the verification step. Additionally, since the source documents support the majority of the data on organizer pages, the data is duplicate. For these two main reasons, we recommend selecting the
    Essential
option will save you some time. When you select
    Essential
, you also have the option to show all organizer pages(s) in the Review Wizard. By default, that check box is clear and we recommend you leave it that way. If you don’t want 1040SCAN to capture the data on the organizer pages there usually isn’t a good reason to include those pages in the Review Wizard.
  5. Select the
Show all data from Schedule C, E, and F organizer pages (as well as other forms shown in verification wizard) for binders created in-house
checkbox if you want the organizer pages to be displayed in the Review Wizard.
    Only the identifier fields from
    single entity organizer pages
(like Schedule C, Schedule E, Schedule F, Consolidated statements, etc.) will be available for verification.
Organizer page(s)
options selected in
Account Admin
will become the default settings for all new binders. However, when creating a new binder, you can select different settings for that particular binder if desired. Settings selected on the
Create New Binder
window override the default settings selected in
Account Admin
.
note
In SPbinder, you can click the
Binder Information
i icon icon to check which tax return options were applied to the binder when it was created.
