Download files

  1. To download Workpaper files, sign in to FileRoom, then select
    Download Files
    .
    Select DOWNLOAD FILES.
  2. A PBFX file will download automatically. Once the file downloads, select it to open.

    You can also locate the downloaded file on your computer, then select to open.
  3. In the
    Download Files
    window, you can filter the binders under
    Setup
    , and download workpapers related to those binders.
    Setup section.
  4. Select a filter, then the filter types to choose what binders you want to download.
    Filter name
    Description
    File Status
    Filter by not yet downloaded (
    Awaiting download
    ), already downloaded (
    Download Complete
    ), or both (
    All
    ).
    Tax year
    Filter by a particular tax year.
    Office Location
    Filter by Office Locations.
    Tax Software
    Filter by tax software used by your firm.
    Binder Type
    Filter by the predefined binder types and custom binder types.
    Download Folders
    Filter by binder and workpaper type
    Select from the Download Folders menu.
    For these binder/workpaper types, you can download the following:
    • 1040/1041
      :
      2000 Tax Workpapers
      and
      4000 Tax Software Files Prepared by SP
      .
    • 1065/1120/1120S
      :
      2010 SP Workpapers
      and the
      2020 Tax Software Files Prepared by SP
      .
    • Portable Binder Format (PBFX)
      : the PBFX file for a binder that has already been generated. It can be downloaded for all types of binders and is set by default.
    Download Folders section.
  5. After choosing your filters, select
    Details
    . A list of binders matching the selected criteria will display.
    Select Details within the SPbinder window.
  6. To further filter binders, select the
    Filter
    icon
    Select the Filter icon.
  7. Mark the checkboxes for the binders you want to download. You can also mark 
    Select All
    .
    Select from the CLIENT IDs listed.
  8. If you want to search for a particular binder, enter the search terms in the
    Search Box
    .
    Search for a client using the search box.
    Download Path Setup for the file.
  9. The
    Download Path Setup
    populates automatically with the path set at
    Admin
    Account Setup
    Download Files Setup
    .
  10. The
    Tax File Path Setup
    populates automatically with the path set at
    Admin
    Account Setup
    Tax File Activation
    . You can also change this path or select one from the list.
    Tax File Path Setup field.
    To choose a tax file path from the list, select an option from the dropdown.
    Select from the Tax File Path Setup.
  11. Select
    Download
    Download button..
  12. After downloading the files, select
    Successfully Completed
    in the
    Download Status
    column.
    Successfully Completed status.
  13. The
    Download File Status
    will open, where you can confirm the download information.
