We aim to retain backward compatibility with previous operating systems and .NET framework, however, to ensure our software remains reliable and up-to-date, we must periodically review and update our requirements. FAQ

  • What does this mean for our firm?
    • Support:
      While you may continue to use SurePrep applications on Windows 10 with .NET framework version 4.8.1, issues encountered due to the older version of Windows may not be supported by our team.
      note
      .NET Framework 4.8.1 will be the new minimum requirement for SurePrep applications, irrespective of operating system.
    • Security Risks:
      Without updates from Microsoft, Windows 10 will become increasingly vulnerable to security threats.
    • Software Compatibility:
      Future updates to our solutions may not be compatible with Windows 10, potentially affecting your ability to use our products effectively.
  • Do I have to use Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8.1?
    Yes, after November 24, Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8.1 will be the
    minimum
    system requirement. SurePrep applications will no longer work with previous versions of the .NET Framework. If you have a later version, such as version 8, you have satisfied the minimum system requirement and you do not need to take any action.
  • How do I determine which version of Microsoft .NET Framework I have installed?
    Follow these steps to determine which version of Microsoft .NET you have installed.
    1. Go to
      FileRoom

      Admin
      >
      Account Setup
      >
      Installation & Updates
    2. Click
      SPbinder Diagnostic Tool
      to run the tool
    3. Enter your Firm ID and click
      Run Test
    If version 4.8.1 or later is not installed, you will see a warning message to download the latest version.

    Admin access is required to access the SPbinder Diagnostic Tool
