Index pages
Documents/Pages matched in Review Wizard (New From Review) steps will automatically appear indexed in their respective folders in the
INDEX TREE
. For pages that are not matched to a folder, SPbinder lets you organize documents by moving Not Index
pages from the Thumbnail
section to INDEX TREE
. To index the pages on
INDEX TREE
, you can drag the required pages from the Thumbnail
section to the INDEX TREE
folder.

The drag and drop will work only for non-indexed pages. For already indexed pages the system will display a
on the left upper side of the Thumbnail.

When the
Add Workpaper
window appears, you can edit the Workpaper Name
field.
You can also select from
Available Predefined Workpapers
displayed in the lower panel.
Select the
Proforma’d
checkbox to indicate that this workpaper item is from the previous year. The workpaper will appear as a Proforma item in blue color.
Sometimes, you may have two documents for the same entity: an organizer document and a letter for Charitable Contribution. You may only have one proforma placeholder
where you can match one document, such as an organizer form. However, you would also like to index the Charitable contribution letter into a different workpaper folder, still indicating that it's a Proforma from last year. You can select the
Proforma'd
checkbox to help differentiate the proforma item (in blue color) from other newly indexed documents.Select
Save
to save the workpaper to INDEX TREE
. Select Cancel
to close the window without saving any changes.
note
The Available Predefined Workpapers sections will be populated only if the predefined workpapers are selected for that particular template in the Binder Template Setup in Admin.
Once the page is indexed in
INDEX TREE
, the THUMBNAIL
section will have the Indexed
icon.
Index workpaper for binder templates
When creating a binder, if you have selected a Binder Template with index numbers, then the
Add Workpaper
window will also give you an option to enter index numbers to the workpaper names.If an index has defined the Automated Workpaper Number Generation, then the
Add Workpaper
window will auto-populate the workpaper number.
note
The Workpaper index numbers will automatically increment if the option of Incremental Order is selected in the Binder Template.
Index multiple pages
You can follow these steps to Index multiple pages at a time:
- To select individual pages:
- Ctrl, thenMouse-click
- To select a series of page selections:
- Mouse-clickthe first page.
- Shift, thenMouse-clickdirectly on the last page to select all the pages in between.

note
When multiple pages are being indexed, the pages are indexed in the same order as the pages in the
Thumbnail
section.
