Dynamic password - use SSN for account verification

TaxCaddy lets your newly invited clients sign in to their accounts by verifying their identity using their SSN. They can also use a 1-time password sent to their mobile numbers. Clients who successfully verify themselves are automatically verified. Those who can't verify their identities are logged in with restricted access until a firm user manually verifies them.
Enabling SSNs gives your clients an additional option of automatically verifying themselves. Saving your firm time from the manual client confirmation process. If the correct information was saved when clients were added in Client Management, they can verify their identity using the last 4 digits of their social security number.

Let your client use their SSN for confirmation

The client's social security number should be saved to their record when adding or importing them in Client Management to let them verify their identity.
After the client has been added and invited to connect to your firm, they’ll receive an email invite with a link to create their TaxCaddy account.
Taxpayer experience
An invited client will receive their invitation in their email. They'll select
Get Started!
to create their account.
TaxCaddy's account creation page will redirect them, prompting them to enter the last 4 digits of their social security number to verify their identity.
When a tax professional adds both the SSN and mobile number to a client's record, the client will be asked to authenticate their identity using a 1-time password sent to their mobile number. If they fail this OTP (1-time password called Dynamic Password) verification three times, they’ll be redirected to the SSN verification screen.
Once they've successfully provided the last 4 digits of their social security number, they’ll have verified their identity and be signed in to TaxCaddy. This client won’t require
Client Confirmation
, as they’ll have verified their own identity.
