Dataset Classes - Deferred Rollfowards
Settings
At the Dataset level, you can add, edit, and delete deferred rollforward columns by class. You can also move the deferred rollforward columns up and down in the list.
To assign a default class to the ending balance:
- SelectPost End Balance Default Classto post the ending balance to the default class.
Copy from administrator
In Administration, you can apply deferred rollforward settings to new datasets. When you copy or roll over datasets, you assign them the settings of the original dataset. You can reset the dataset deferred rollforward to the Administration settings by selecting
Copy From Admin

Use information set up in Dataset Administration to populate the Deferred Balances report in the column breakout view, the Deferred Rollforwards page, and the Rollforward section in the Temporary Differences pages. You can find the rollforward section in Data Entry on the Temp diff Tax Basis, then

tab.To set the dataset deferred rollforward to the Administration settings in a dataset:
- SelectMy Datasetsand thenMore.
- SelectManage Deferred Rollforwards.
- SelectCopy From Adminto copy the settings from the System level in Administration. This will replace the data for the current dataset.
- Select the arrow to move the deferred rollforward columns up or down.
New deferred rollforward columns
To add a New Deferred Rollforward column:
- SelectAddand then enter the name.
- SelectDefault, to attach the default subclass.
- SelectSub-Totalto create or move it to the rollforward column. If default is enabled, this option won't be available.
- SelectOK.
Edit deferred column
To edit a Deferred Rollforward Column:
- SelectEditand then enter the new name.
- SelectDefault, to attach the default subclass.
- SelectSub-Totalto create or move it to the rollforward column. If default is enabled, this option won't be available.
- SelectOK.
Delete deferred column
To delete a Deferred Rollforward Column:
- Select aDeferred Rollforward Column.
- SelectDeleteand the message appearsAll assigned classes from deleted column will be re-assigned to.
- Select theDeferred Rollforward Columnto re-assign the classes.
- SelectCancelto close without deleting the Deferred Rollforward Column.
- SelectOKto delete.
Assign columns for reporting
To Assign Deferred Rollforward Column Value to Class to be Displayed in the Deferred Report:
- Select a class for the columns:Activity,Deferred, and/orBalance Sheet Only.

- The list of available classes includes Class Code - Name.
- The default class is Unassigned.
- The Deferred Rollforward class defines where you enter the balances for an adjustment. Therefore, you can only assign 1 type (Activity, Deferred Only, Balance Sheet Only) for each class name.
- The Tax Rate Impact lets you reflect the treatment of the tax rate change on the income statement in the deferred tax provision or the balance sheet by selecting deferred or balance sheet only, respectively.
- The FX Rate Change lets you assign a specific class's rate change, resulting from changes in the beginning and ending FX rates, to another column other than the default of Rate Change.
- The Tax Rate Change lets you assign a specific class's rate change, resulting from changes in the beginning and ending tax rates, to another column other than the default of Rate Change.
