Release notes highlight new features and improvements made to ONESOURCE Tax Provision Classic.

Bridge upgrades

As a continuation of the enhancement released in August 2024, we have added more improvements for bridge mapping and imports.
Spreadsheet import for bridge mapping
The
Spreadsheet Import for Dataset – Bridge Mapping
 will no longer delete existing profiles or individual mapped records for the dataset. Instead, it will now update existing records and insert new records at the bottom of the map for each profile.
General Ledger Manager bridge integration
We added labels to distinguish between
General Ledger Manager Classic
 and
General Ledger Manager
 applications in step 3 of the bridge import wizard.
  • In Step
    3 Choose Data Source
    , you can now upload data from General Ledger Manager.
  • In Step
    4 Choose Configuration
    , we added a new
    Aggregation Logic
     dropdown.
  • The dropdown populates
    Aggregation Logic
     items based on your Collection selection.
Bridge profile API
We added 5 new REST APIs to manage Bridge Profiles at the dataset level. These APIs are

Create
,
Edit
,
Delete
, and
Copy
.

Payable FX rate enhancement

As a continuation of the new feature released in May 2024, we added more improvements for populating payable entries.
Workpapers SET and Spreadsheet import
  • The
    Workpapers SET
     function for Payable Data entry records now lets you send a null value.
  • The
    Spreadsheet Import
     feature now lets you import a null value.
  • These changes enable the system to inherit either the ending unit FX rate, or the FX rate based on the date and currency of the entry.
We updated the in-product Help and Support link to direct you to the new website URL.

Known issues

Global Access and Payable FX rate handling
Integration with ONESOURCE Income Tax
You are unable to save retrieved data due to an error. For a solution, copy and paste the datasheet to a local file. You can also copy and cut the data, which will save it locally.

Resolved issues

  • Reports (legacy) hyperlink:
    • Issue: When generating reports under the Reporting (legacy) section in ONESOURCE Tax Provision, the reports generated without issue. However, when users tried to select options to modify the reports, the changes were not applied.
    • Resolution: This issue has been fixed, and modifications to reports now apply correctly.
  • Tax rate impact column:
    • Issue: The Tax Rate Impact column values were not displaying correctly in the Tax Accounts Summary report, specifically for Balance Sheet Only and Deferred Tax Provision.
    • Resolution: The Tax Rate Impact column values now display correctly from the database.
  • Deferred balances report labeling:
    • Issue: The deferred balances report for Federal+State+FBOS with the Expanded (b/s) unit breakout was incorrectly labeling the value columns.
    • Resolution: The value columns are now labeled correctly on an additive reporting dataset.
  • JE reports decimal rounding:
    • Issue: Formulas in the database were rounding off decimals to 2 places by default, not respecting the JE round-off settings in Manage Configurations.
    • Resolution: The formulas have been updated to respect the round-off settings.
  • Output JE reports generation:
    • Issue: The Output JE - Export Detail and Output JE - Configuration Summary reports were not generating as expected when the
      Automatic Flow Through
       was enabled.
    • Resolution: These reports now generate as expected.
  • Audit history for sub-consolidations:
    • Issue: Only newly added sub-consolidations were being captured in the audit history.
    • Resolution: The audit history now captures all changes, including those made to existing sub-consolidations.
  • Rollforward component editability:
    • Issue: When a Global Access user edited a Rollforward component assigned to Global Access, other Rollforward components not assigned to Global Access became editable.
    • Resolution: The issue is fixed, and Rollforward components not assigned to Global Access remain uneditable after editing other components.
  • Reports API performance:
    • Issue: Reports were generating slowly when using the Reports API.
    • Resolution: Reports are now generating with increased performance.
  • Source allocations rounded to nearest percentage:
    • Issue: The ONESOURCE Income Tax to ONESOURCE Tax Provision import was rounding source allocations to the nearest percentage.
    • Resolution: The import now retrieves values with all decimals for all reports.
