Update security questions

We use security questions to verify your identity if you forget your password. You are not required to set security questions for your account. You can also verify your identity using a verification code sent to your mobile phone number.

To safeguard your TaxCaddy account, choose security questions with answers that someone can't guess or find on your social media.
TaxCaddy.com on PC, Mac, or tablet
Follow these steps to update your security questions using TaxCaddy.com on your PC, Mac, or tablet.
  1. Sign in to taxcaddy.com
  2. Select
    User Menu
    , then
    Settings
    .
    Select Settings
  3. Select
    Security
    , then
    Update Security Questions
    .
    Select Security then Update Security Questions
  4. If you currently don't have any security questions saved, select
    SET SECURITY QUESTIONS
    .

    If you are accessing TaxCaddy using a sign-in link from your tax professional, the ability to set security questions isn't available until you create a password for your account.
    Select SET SECURITY QUESTIONS
    note
    Security questions are optional. If you don’t have security questions set up for your TaxCaddy account, you can reset your password by verifying the SMS sent to your mobile phone.
  5. Select a question, then select a new question to change that security question. Repeat for all security questions.
    Select the question from the down-down menu
  6. Enter an answer in the answer fields to set a new answer.
    Enter your answer
  7. Select
    Save
    .
    Select Save to save the update
  8. Confirm your password and select
    Submit
    .
    Select Submit
  9. TaxCaddy confirms your security questions were updated. You'll also receive an email notification confirming the changes to your security settings.
iOS mobile app
Follow these steps to update your security questions on the iPhone mobile phone app.
  1. Sign in to the TaxCaddy mobile app.
  2. Select
    More
    on the navigation tab bar, then
    Settings
    .
    Select More then Settings
  3. Select
    Update Security Questions
    .

    If you are accessing TaxCaddy using a sign in link from your tax professional, the ability to update your security questions isn't available until you create a password for your account.

  4. To select a different question, select the question you want to change.
    Select the question you'd like to update
  5. Select the new question you'd like to use.

    Answer
    field, enter your answer, then select
    Save
    .
    Enter your answer and save
  7. Enter your password, then select
    Update
    .
    Enter password
  8. Your security questions will be updated.
Android mobile app
Follow these steps to update your security questions on the Android mobile phone app.
  1. Sign in to the TaxCaddy mobile app.
  2. Select the
    Menu
    icon.
    Select the Android Menu icon
  3. Select
    Settings
    .
    Select Settings
  4. Select
    Update Security Questions
    .

  5. Select a security question to update that question.
    Select the question you would like to update
  6. Select the new question you'd like to use.

  7. Select the
    Answer
    field, enter your answer. When you're finished, select the
    SAVE
    icon on the upper right corner.
    Enter the answer and save
  8. Confirm your password, and select
    OK
    .
    Enter your password to save
  9. Your security questions will be updated.
