Rename documents

You can edit the names of documents in Uploaded Tax Documents. You can also move or delete documents.
TaxCaddy.com on PC, Mac, or tablet
Follow these steps to edit the name of a document using TaxCaddy.com on your PC, Mac, or tablet.
  1. Sign in to TaxCaddy.com.
  2. Select
    Documents
    .
    Select Documents from the navigation bar
  3. Select the
    Tax Year
     menu to select the relevant tax year.
    Select a tax year from the TAX YEAR
  4. If your tax professional has enabled 1041 tax return profiles on your account for trust/estate, you can select the correct
    TAX RETURN
     profile.
    Select from the TAX RETURN menu
  5. Select
    Uploaded Documents
     to view documents previously uploaded to your selected tax return.
    Select Uploaded Documents from the Documents tab
  6. Your uploaded tax documents will appear under their respective categories. Select the
    Edit
     icon next to the document you want to rename.
    Select the Edit icon
  7. The
    Edit Document Name
     window appears. Enter a new name for the document, then select
    Save
    . The changes will appear immediately.
    Enter the document's new name then select Save
iOS mobile app
Follow these steps to edit the name of a document on the iPhone mobile phone app.
  1. Sign in to the TaxCaddy mobile app.
  2. Select the
    Documents
     icon on the navigation bar.
    Select Documents from the navigation bar
  3. Select the tax year.
    Select tax year from the menu
  4. If your tax professional has enabled 1041 tax return profiles on your account for trust/estate, select the
    Tax Return
     dropdown to select the tax return profile.
    Select from the Tax Return dropdown
  5. Select the
    Uploaded
     tab to view uploaded documents.
    Select Uploaded
  6. Select the
    Menu
     icon next to the document you want to rename.
    Select the document menu
  7. Select
    Rename
    .
    Select Rename
    Alternatively, you can open the document the PDF Viewer, then select the
    Menu
     icon.
    Select the Menu icon from the Document viewer
  8. Enter a new name and select
    Done
    . If you see the confirmation window, select
    Confirm
    .
    Enter the document's new name then select Done
Android mobile app
Follow these steps to edit the name of a document on the Android mobile phone app.
  1. Sign in to the TaxCaddy mobile app.
  2. Select the
    Menu
     icon.
    Select the Android Menu icon
  3. Select
    Tax Documents
    .
    Select Tax Documents
  4. If your tax professional has enabled 1041 tax return profiles on your account for trust/estate, select the
    Tax Return
     dropdown to select the tax return profile.
    Select a tax return from the TAX RETURN dropdown
  5. Select
    UPLOADED
    .
    Select the UPLOADED tab
  6. Select the
    Menu
     icon next to the document you want to rename.
    Select the document menu
  7. Select
    Rename Document
    .
    Select Rename Document
  8. Enter a new name and select
    Save
    .
    Enter the document's new name then select SAVE
  9. Your document will be renamed.
