Complete a form

Certain types of documents requested by your tax professional can be fulfilled by completing a fillable form. Once the form has been completed, it will be moved to the uploaded documents tab.
TaxCaddy.com on PC, Mac, or tablet
Follow these steps to resolve a Document Request by completing a fillable form:
  1. Sign in to TaxCaddy.com.
  2. On the
    Overview
    screen, you will see a
    Task List
    on the left, with your
    Upload
    requests listed as
    [Tax Year] Document Requests
    .
    Select Document Requests from the task list
  3. Select
    [Tax Year] Document Requests
    to open a list of your document requests next to your
    Task List
    .
    Select Document Requests from the task list
    By default, both pending and previously fulfilled requests will be displayed. However, you can use the dropdown to display only
    Open Requests

    Select Open Requests
  4. Under
    Documents Requested
    , the
    Fillable Form
    badge indicates that a fillable form is attached to this document request. You can either fill out the form or upload the requested document. To continue, select the
    MORE OPTIONS
    menu on the document tile.

  5. If the requested document is a fillable form, you will see
    Complete Form
    as an option on the document tile. Select
    Complete Form
    .

    If you decide to
    Upload
    a document rather than complete the form, you will be alerted that this will replace the attached fillable PDF and any data you've provided to it.Click
    CONTINUE
    to upload your document, or select
    COMPLETE FORM
    to fill out the PDF your tax professional has provided.

  6. Fill out the form in the Document Viewer panel.

    Document data is auto saved as you enter it. You can return back and continue from where you left off.

    Some fields will ask for current year records while displaying your prior tax year information for reference. When you see information auto-filled to the prior year column, remember to leave that information as is and only address the current year records.

  7. Once you have completed the form, select
    SUBMIT
    to upload the form.
    Select SUBMIT
  8. In the
    Submit Documents
    window, select the checkbox then select
    Submit
    . Once the document is submitted, it can no longer be modified.

  9. The
    Completed Upload
    icon will appear next to the associated document request.

    You can also view the completed document in the
    Uploaded Documents
    tab.

iOS mobile app
Follow these steps to resolve a Document Request by completing a fillable form on your iOS mobile phone app:
  1. Sign in to the TaxCaddy mobile app and select
    [Tax Year] Document Requests
    to go to your pending document requests.
    Select Document Requests
  2. Your document requests will appear under
    [Tax Year] Document Requests
    .

  3. Go to the fillable form (denoted by the
    FILLABLE FORM
    badge) that you would like to complete. Select this document request tile.

    Complete Form
    from the fulfillment options listed.

  5. Fill the form in the Document Viewer.

  6. Once you have completed the form, tap
    Submit
    to upload the form.
    Select SUBMIT
  7. In the window, select
    Agree & Submit
    . Once you submit the document, it can no longer be modified.
    Select AGREE & SUBMIT
  8. The document will appear on the
    UPLOADED
    tab. The document menu will show
    Form Completed
    .

Android mobile app
Follow these steps to resolve a Document Request by completing a fillable form on your Android mobile phone app:
  1. Sign in to the TaxCaddy mobile app and select
    [Tax Year] Document Requests
    to go to your pending document requests.
    Select the Document Request task
  2. Your document requests will appear after
    [Tax Year] Document Requests
    .
    Listed Document Requests
  3. Go to the fillable form (denoted by the
    FILLABLE FORM
    badge) that you would like to complete. Select this document request tile.

  4. Select
    Complete Form
    from the fulfillment options listed.
    Select Complete Form
  5. Fill the form in the Document Viewer.

    SUBMIT
    to upload the form.

  7. In the window, select
    Agree & Submit
    . Once you submit the document, it can no longer be modified.

  8. The request will now be fulfilled and will display the
    FORM COMPLETED
    badge when selected from your list of document requests.

To redo the fillable form (for requested documents), delete the document from the
Uploaded Documents
tab. However, after the uploaded form has been deleted, it will be restored to its original state in your
Document Requests
. All entered data will be deleted. Only the fillable forms available for uploading requested document will be restored (for example, documents completed through the
Complete Form
feature). Fillable Forms for review/sign documents won’t be restored if they are deleted.
