Message your tax professional about your return

Show all hidden content
You can discuss your return with your tax professional by sending messages from the message panel when viewing a tax return. Doing so creates a new thread associated with that document in
Messages
.
note
Message panels also appear for documents, questionnaires, tax returns, tax payments, and invoices.
TaxCaddy.com on PC, Mac, or tablet
Follow these steps to message your tax professional regarding your return using TaxCaddy.com on your PC, Mac, or tablet.
  1. Sign in to TaxCaddy.com
  2. On the
    Overview
     screen, you will see a
    Task List
     on the left, with your tax returns listed under
    View - [Tax Return Name]
    .

    If your tax professional has enabled 1041 tax return profiles on your account for trust/estate, then select
    SWITCH TAX RETURN
     to select a different tax return profile.

  3. Your selected tax return will appear in the
    Overview
     screen's document viewer.

  4. Select
    Message
     to open the
    Messages
     panel for the selected tax return document.
    note
    The title of the selected tax return will appear at the top of the
    Messages
     panel.
    Select the Message icon to start a conversation with your tax professional
  5. On the
    Messages
     panel, enter your message into the textbox, then select
    Send
    . Your tax professional's reply appears in the thread on this panel. The message thread is also accessible from the
    Messages
     page on the navigation panel.

  6. Alternatively, when viewing a tax return in the
    Tax Return
     tab you can use the
    Messages
     panel.
    Enter your message in the provided field then select SEND
iOS mobile app
Follow these steps to message your tax professional regarding your return on the iPhone mobile phone app.
  1. Sign in to the TaxCaddy mobile app.
  2. Tax returns that have been uploaded to your account will appear on the
    Overview
     screen. Select the tax return you'd like to view.

    If your tax professional has enabled 1041 tax return profiles on your account, select the
    SELECT TAX RETURNS
     dropdown to view your available tax return profiles.

  3. The tax return you selected will open in the
    Document Viewer
    .

  4. Select
    Message
     from the Document Viewer.
    Select the Message icon in the Tax Return viewer
  5. Enter your message and select
    Send
     to send your message.
    Enter your message in the provided field then select the Send icon
Android mobile app
Follow these steps to message your tax professional regarding your return on the Android mobile phone app.
  1. Sign in to the TaxCaddy mobile app.
  2. Tax returns that have been uploaded to your account will appear on the
    Overview
     screen. Select the tax return you'd like to view.

    Send
     to send your message.
