Invalid ZIP code entered in Screen W-2.
The ZIP Code entered on the W-2 screen in the return isn't valid for the state entered on the same screen. If the W-2 screen has a U.S. address, then the 1st 5 digits of the ZIP Code need to be within the valid ranges of ZIP Codes for the corresponding state abbreviation.
Solution
- Go to the W-2 screen in the Income folder.
- Make sure the correct ZIP Code is entered.noteWe recommend searching online for the correct ZIP Code for the address. Sometimes W-2 forms are issued with incorrect ZIP Codes.
- Re-create and retransmit the return.
