F2210-006-01 e-file error
Form 2210, 'TotalPenaltyAmt' must be equal to 'EsPenaltyAmt' in the return.
This error indicates that the estimated tax penalty on Form 1040 doesn't match the calculated amount on Form 2210.
Solution
- Review theEstimated tax penaltyon Form 1040.
- Verify that it matches the program-calculated amount on Form 2210.
- Delete any overrides on Form 1040 for theEstimated tax penalty.
You can also suppress the estimated tax penalty by selecting
1
or 2
in the Suppress penalties on Form 1040: Form 2210
field on the Pen screen in the Payments folder.
