F4868-001-02 e-file error
Form 4868 can only be filed after the 'TaxPeriodEndDate' in the IRS Submission Manifest and on or before the due date to which the extension applies, unless Line 8 checkbox or Line 9 checkbox is checked.
You can only file extensions after the tax year-end date, and on or before the return is originally due.
Solution
You can't file an extension after the original due date of the return.
If you're trying to file a return, follow these steps:
- In Forms view, go to Form 4868.
- SelectEdit, thenOverrides.
- ClearForce Form to Print.
- Recreate and retransmit the e-file.
