F8283-027 e-file error

If Form 8283, "Contemporaneous Written Acknowledgment Statement" [ContemporaneousWrittenAcknowledgmentStatement] is attached to Section B 'PropertyInformation', then 'VehicleInd' must be checked.
If you attach a contemporaneous written acknowledgment statement to Section B, the type of property needs to be
vehicle
.

Solution

  1. Go to the 1098C screen in the Itemized Deductions folder.
  2. Select
    i - vehicle
     from the
    Type of property
     field.
    note
    Per Form 8283 instructions, boats and airplanes are considered vehicles.
  3. Recreate and retransmit the return.
