F8862-014 e-file error
If Form 8862, 'EICClaimedInd' is checked, then 'FilerWithQualifyingChildGrp' or 'PrimaryNoQualifyingChildGrp' or 'SpouseNoQualifyingChildGrp' must have a value.
You'll get this error message if you marked
Earned Income Credit
in Form 8862, Part I, line 2, and didn't complete Part II.Solution
- Clear any ELF Critical, Critical, or FYI diagnostics related to the EIC or Form 8862.
- Make sure Form 8862, Part II is complete in Form view.
- Enter the data for Part II on the 8862 screen in the Credits folder.
- Refer to the 8862 form instructions.
