F9465-001-02 e-file error
Form 9465, Line 9 'TotalTaxDueAmt' must not be greater than 50000. If the tax due amount is greater than 50000, complete and mail Form 9465 with Form 433-F to the mailing address provided on www.irs.gov. (rule F9465-001-02)
Per Form 9465 Instructions, if the total amount owed is more than $50,000 (including any amounts owed from prior years), you can't use Form 9465.
Solution
- Go to the 433 screen in the Payments folder.
- Select3=Form 433-Fin theType of Collection Information Statement.
- Complete any necessary information on the screen for Form 433-F.
- Recreate and retransmit the return.
Instead of filing Form 433-F, you can complete Form 9465-FS, Installment Agreement Request. Go to www.irs.govto get the form.
