FPYMT-050-01 e-file error
If IRS Payment Record is present, then 'RequestedPaymentDt' in the IRS Payment Record must be on or before the due date but not more than 5 days prior to the received date, unless Form 4868 Line 8 checkbox or Line 9 checkbox is checked. (value YYYY-MM-DD, rule FPYMT-050-01)
This rejection happens when you file an extension after the due date and include an electronic funds withdrawal (EFW) record.
Solution
Do 1 of the following:
- Remove the date fromElectronic funds withdrawal for extensions requested payment dateon the ELF screen to remove the extension EFW information. Then recreate and resubmit the extension electronically and have the taxpayer mail a check to the IRS.
- File the extension and payment on paper.
