FW2-499 e-file error

Form W-2, Line B 'EmployerEIN' is invalid for processing an Individual e-filed return. (rule FW2-499).

You'll get this error if the
EIN
included on a W-2 doesn't match the IRS e-File database.

Go to the

W2

screen, in the Income
folder.

For each unit, review the EIN
.

If any EIN
is wrong, correct it.

Re-create and retransmit the return.

If all EINs
are correct, you'll need to paper file the return with Form 8948.

note

This is because the IRS doesn't show the EIN
on its database.
